Best Vegan Breakfasts in Disney World

Breakfast for vegans in Disney World can sometimes be less than thrilling as the common breakfast menu features lots of meat and eggs. We have highlighted the many great vegan breakfast options that can be found around Walt Disney World. Just to note, almost every single breakfast location can make allergy friendly (vegan AND gluten free) Mickey Waffles, we want to focus on the other breakfasts you can find. These breakfasts are in no particular order, because it’s impossible for us to pick our favorite!

Kona Cafe at Disney’s Polynesian Resort (Table Service)

Vegan Tonga Toast with Syrup from Kona Cafe

Kona Cafe is located in Disney’s Polynesian Resort and is a great start for a Magic Kingdom day with the monorail access to the park. Kona Cafe is known for their legendary Tonga Toast which can be made vegan upon request! Tonga Toast is a large brick of bread that is filled with banana, soaked in non-dairy milk (when ordered vegan), then deep fried and covered in sugar. This is from a shared fryer. Be sure to request maple syrup as the compote that comes with it contains dairy. Don’t want to do a table service? You can also find this at Captain Cook’s quick service at the Polynesian.

Vegan Seitan Scramble from Landscape of Flavors

Landscape of Flavors is the food court at Disney’s Art of Animation, which is set to have the gondola system opening in late 2019 that will offer access to Hollywood Studios and Epcot. Landscape of Flavors is large, but head over to the Omelet station and you can order a Vegan Seitan Scramble. The Seitan Scramble features tofu, chipotle style seitan, edamame, onions, peppers, and arugula.

Mickey Waffles and Tofu Scramble from Boma

Boma is a large (non character) buffet found at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. The buffet itself offers several vegan options from asparagus to tater tots. The real gem here is that the chefs will make vegan Mickey Waffles and they even do a tofu scramble which is an actual scramble! This is a great place to head to if you have a day at Animal Kingdom planned since it’s just a short bus ride to the park.

Trattoria Al Forno is located at Disney’s BoardWalk Resort. This location is a character breakfast featuring Rapunzel, Flynn, Ariel, and Eric. This location has a vegetarian menu which notes which items can be vegan as well. We haven’t personally been here yet to vouch for it, but any location that has a vegan menu is a win in our book! Disney’s BoardWalk offers boat transportation to Epcot and Hollywood Studios and is within walking distance to both parks as well.

The Wave… of American Flavors at Disney’s Contemporary Resort (Table Service)

Vegan Tofu Scramble at The Wave

The Wave is located in Disney’s Contemporary Resort and is a great breakfast location for a Magic Kingdom day since it’s a short walk to the park. While we wouldn’t recommend the vegan waffles here (very dense), the tofu scramble is a great option! The chefs here are super accommodating and can make a tofu scramble with vegetables of your choice, breakfast potatoes and they have vegan butter for their toast!

Back in 2014 I created Vegan Disney World after going to Walt Disney World several times and finding no resource for vegan options. Corey and I began this blog from our trips and have now moved closer to the mouse to eat around the parks on a weekly basis. Since the blog started we have cruised on Disney Cruise Line, gone to Tokyo Disneyland and to Disneyland in California!

  1. I absolutely LOVE the Vegan Protein Bowl from Ale & Compass! The only thing I’m curious about is what the vegan sausage is made out of. Since posting this article, have you found out?

  2. Do you know if you can get vegan Mickey waffles at Ale & Compass? I noticed them on the kids menu, so it seems like they could be an option. We are eating there for a candlelight processional meal in December.
