Woody’s Lunch Box

Toy Story Land has finally opened in Disney’s Hollywood Studios and with a new land comes new food! The opening of Toy Story Land was pretty intense, with opening weekend having lines to get into the land before getting in more lines for food and attractions. We decided to give it a little time before we ventured out to check it out.

First Matt and Bridget went to check out Woody’s Lunch Box and got the “Totchos” which can easily be made vegan. The “Totchos” are potato barrels (tatertots) with a chili, sour cream, cheese, and corn chips. To get it vegan you can order it with vegan chili and vegan cheese! Unfortunately they don’t have a vegan sour cream.

Mobile Order

One of the best parts about this is that you can actually mobile order the “Totchos” and modify it to be vegan. There are only a few quick service locations that offer mobile order for ordering vegan, and this one is the most advanced so far.

The “Totchos” are great! The potato barrels are baked, not fried, and we think the chili is the same one found at Dockside Diner and Fairfax Fare (we mobile ordered so we didn’t get to check the ingredient list). For cheese they have shredded Daiya mozzarella for the “totchos” that comes on the side. We have also seen people get a torn up slice of Daiya cheddar for their vegan cheese. The bowl you get is huge and is a great budget friendly meal.

“Totchos”

Since Matt and Bridget got the “Totchos” I figured when Corey and I finally checked out Toy Story Land that we would try to get the Grilled Cheese vegan. I checked on the app and you can’t customize the grilled cheese so I got in line. While I was in line a cast member kept letting everyone know that if you special ordered a sandwich it will be 15-20 minutes for that meal. This is what I was expecting anyway, as we are used to the special ordering being longer for vegan food since it’s treated like an allergy at most locations.

I finally got to one of the two registers, and told the cashier that I needed to speak with a coordinator because of my sons allergy and a question about the grilled cheese. A minute or two later the coordinator came out and said they could do the grilled cheese vegan. He said they usually put mayonnaise on the bread to grill it, so they would obviously omit that, and that they had vegan cheddar for the sandwich.

Kids Grilled Cheese

I ordered a kids grilled cheese for little dude and it came with a side of potato barrels and an orange. It took about 15 minutes for it to come out, which wasn’t too bad. And luckily Corey had found an umbrella to sit under while waiting. The coordinator gave me my food and said that they have to make a whole grilled cheese for the half a sandwich for the kids portion, since I was the only one ordering a vegan grilled cheese, we got a whole sandwich.

Kids Grilled Cheese

The grilled cheese was okay, I had to take a bite of it before giving it to Finn. Honestly, it reminded me of those brick grilled cheeses you’d get in elementary school, which was almost comforting? I had seen some people post their sandwiches and the cheese was very not melted, however ours was definitely melted. They use Daiya Cheddar slices here, which I personally love.

There has been some mixed information about the bread used here, so just always be sure to ask to speak with a coordinator and if all else fails have them bring out an ingredient list.

Let’s talk about Toy Story Land real quick too. The land itself was super cute and very well themed. If you look around you can see where the buildings look like toys snapped together and lots of great bright colors. We went on a Saturday morning and had a Fastpass for Toy Story Midway Mania. After Corey beat me, we quickly checked out the area and then saw the wait time for Alien Swirling Saucers was pretty short so we got in line for that. We all had a blast on it, we didn’t really know what to expect but it was really fun.

Downside to Toy Story Land, minimal shade. Which is fine with me, until it rains. And it’s Florida, so it RAINS. Also for Woody’s Lunch Box, the seating is pretty minimal, if you plan on eating here I recommend a not normal meal time for a better chance of getting a table. Other than that we really enjoyed the area and hope to go back and really explore once Corey’s foot is no longer broken and we can HOPEFULLY snag a Fastpass for Slinky Dog Dash.

Back in 2014 I created Vegan Disney World after going to Walt Disney World several times and finding no resource for vegan options. Corey and I began this blog from our trips and have now moved closer to the mouse to eat around the parks on a weekly basis. Since the blog started we have cruised on Disney Cruise Line, gone to Tokyo Disneyland and to Disneyland in California!
