So what is actually vegan this year? What looks like it is vegan but isn’t?

We went to Epcot on February 28th for day one of Epcot Flower and Garden, here is what we found for you.

Hanami – Frushi
Still not vegan, the wrap contains Cochineal Extract which is not vegan or vegetarian. Skip this option.

Lotus House – Spring Rolls
The rolls are vegan! Just skip the sauce as it contains mayo. This was pretty tasty, our friends popped over to the quick service to get soy sauce for their rolls. It was fine without, but that would have been a nice addition.

Spring Roll Ingredients
Vegetable Spring Roll without Sauce

Berry Basket – Field Greens with fresh Strawberries, Crispy Quinoa, Strawberry Vinaigrette and Spiced Pecans
This is vegan as is! It even comes with a tofu cheese on it. Order without pecans & quinoa, reports of containing egg whites. This was light a refreshing, I would have loved it as a big salad, but as a snack it was lacking. The tofu cheese tasted like the one used on the Greek Nachos during the 2017 Food and Wine Festival.

Pineapple Promenade – Pineapple Soft-Serve & Violet Lemonade
Vegan! You can get the soft-serve plain, with rum, or with Fanta. The Violet Lemonade is also vegan here. The soft-serve was great, just like you’d find in Magic Kingdom. We will try the lemonade next time.

Pineapple Soft Serve with Fanta

The Honey Bee-stro Hosted by National Honey Board™ – Roasted Cauliflower
This may be vegan with removing the honey. We did not ask as removing honey from this dish leaves you with rice, plain cauliflower and asparagus which is not worth the money in our opinion.

Taste of Marakkesh – Fried Cauliflower with Capers, Garlic Parsley and Chili Ranch Sauce
Not vegan, cauliflower contains egg.

Back in 2014 I created Vegan Disney World after going to Walt Disney World several times and finding no resource for vegan options. Corey and I began this blog from our trips and have now moved closer to the mouse to eat around the parks on a weekly basis. Since the blog started we have cruised on Disney Cruise Line, gone to Tokyo Disneyland and to Disneyland in California!

  1. Checked here to compare this years menu you to last years, so thank you. I’m not Vegan but I find myself eating more and more vegan foods cause I can’t have dairy and it’s a safer better option most of the time. By chance, where did you get that printout with all the ingredients listed? Did a Disney CM let you look at it?

    1. Yes I asked the cm at the register if they had one. The issue is that the Disney owned booths have chefs with them on their phones whereas the non Disney owned (like China) should have print outs of it.

  2. Are you certain V means vegetarian and not vegan? It seems there are several vegetarian options without the V.

    1. Hi there, our list with the V’s is direct from Disney. We have found they often put gelatin in things and won’t deem them vegetarian.

    1. We’re sad they took away the vegan crabcakes and didn’t replace them with a new vegan option.
