This review reflects our experience from October 2017.
The Land in Epcot Center has many quick food service options for vegans. Our favorite being the Vegan Flatbread in Sunshine Seasons. There is also several grab and go items and a Vegan Korma as well. But this time we decided to try the Garden Grill. Garden Grill is a family style table service restaurant with characters. A cool feature to this restaurant is that it’s slowly rotating, which means your view is always changing.

Chip, Dale, Mickey & Pluto come to your table. Our daughter liked Dale the best.

Our server was very nice. When we told her we were vegan she was excited to tell us there is a vegan skillet she would bring us. First, we had salad with oil & vinegar as the dressing. It was just okay. We asked if the bread was vegan & she said it was. However there was no earth balance butter for it.

Next up was our skillet. It was packed full of good stuff. The ‘meatloaf’ was the star. It was so good & filling, with a tomato sauce on top. Our server said it is made in house. We also had squash, zucchini, green beans, rice, & french fries. After we finished the first skillet we asked for more ‘meatloaf’ & veggies. This is an all-you-care-to-eat style restaurant. We were very happy our second helping came out in no time.

Because everything we had so far was good we were excited for dessert. The traditional dessert is a strawberry shortcake, so we were looking forward to something like that. But alas, we got an extremely boring bowl of fruit. Just melon & a few grapes. It was the let down of the meal. We are all for a good fruit bowl, but this one was lackluster & tasted bad.

Would we go back again?
Probably not for a while. While we loved the main course, the starter salad & dessert left us wanting more. That being said, we think it’s great they make the loaf in house & had the food ready for us right away. It’s nice to know the chefs put thought into a vegan meal!

I went Christmas Eve and the vegan desert they gave us was a shortcake. It was clearly different than the non vegan one my family ate.
Thanks for this! We’re not vegan, but vegetarian – and was wondering what we would get for dinner if we did this one. 🙂
