Pizza Planet Getting Refurb

This review reflects our experience from September 2015.

If you have ever seen Toy Story then you know the name Pizza Planet. In the movie Pizza Planet is a super cool pizza place that is also an arcade. This is also true about Pizza Planet in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. However, starting January 19th Pizza Planet will be closed for refurbishment and relocation due to the new Star Wars experiences coming. It is rumored that Pizza Planet will reopen in November 2016 in a new area of Pixar Place. It has not been confirmed that this will be the same Pizza Planet. But just incase it is, here’s our review from our last experience here!

Pizza Planet is a great quick service option in Hollywood Studios for vegans. When ordering you can get an allergy menu and order a vegetable pizza with Follow Your Heart vegan cheese. With the update of allergy menus in the parks, you are now given a pager to wait instead of standing in a busy line being in everyones way. When your buzzer goes off you meet the cast member at the ‘pizza wall’ and get your food. We went when it had just opened and it took us 12 minutes to get our food.

The vegetable pizza comes with a salad side that is pre-mixed with Caesar dressing. You can request a non-dressed salad and get a packet of Italian or eat more junk food and get some Lays chips like we do.

The pizza is topped with mushrooms, onions, tomatoes and peppers. They do not cut the pizza so you will need to attempt to cut your pizza with a plastic knife. The cheese was mostly melted, we have had pizza here before with it still pretty cold. For a quick pizza this one was pretty good!

Unfortunately Hollywood Studios is not the best place to find vegan food, especially when it comes to quick service so we are sad to see this one go for most of the year. Hopefully they open the new Pizza Planet ahead of schedule!

Would we go back?
As long as they still accommodate vegans in November then yes!

Are you excited about the changes at Hollywood Studios?

Back in 2014 I created Vegan Disney World after going to Walt Disney World several times and finding no resource for vegan options. Corey and I began this blog from our trips and have now moved closer to the mouse to eat around the parks on a weekly basis. Since the blog started we have cruised on Disney Cruise Line, gone to Tokyo Disneyland and to Disneyland in California!

  1. If you are in Hollywood, a nice option is the Fresh Mediterranean Market in the Dolphin. A quick boat ride or walk, and they have FANTASTIC make your own salads. Great service as well.
