Logan’s Report: Plaza Restaurant

This review reflects his experience in March of 2015.

Our friend Logan was in Disney World during Dapper Day on March 14th. To keep with the dapper theme he ate at the Plaza Restaurant. While dining he sent us some photos and info about his meal so we could share it with our readers.

The Plaza Restaurant is located just off Main Street USA in Disney’s Magic Kingdom. This is a great stop for a relatively inexpensive table service while visiting this park. Not to mention the great view of Cinderella’s Castle from inside the restaurant.

On the menu there is a veggie burger and a vegetarian sandwich that can be made vegan. Logan was told by Chef Ken that he was better off with a vegetable sandwich over the veggie burger. Typically the vegetarian sandwich comes with mozzarella and pesto which were removed to make it vegan.

The sandwich has hummus, cucumber, roasted red pepper, tomato and lettuce on it. Typically this sandwich comes with ‘fresh baked focaccia’ but he swapped the bread for wheat. The sandwich was pretty tasty, however his only complaint was that the bottom slice of bread became pretty soggy which made for a messy sandwich. The fries were nice and crispy.

Additionally Logan got a chocolate Tofutti root beer float. As he said ‘the root beer float was heaven on earth.’ You can get Tofutti ice cream floats with root beer, Coke, Diet Coke or Sprite.

“For $20, you cannot go wrong with a sandwich and a vegan root beer float.”

Back in 2014 I created Vegan Disney World after going to Walt Disney World several times and finding no resource for vegan options. Corey and I began this blog from our trips and have now moved closer to the mouse to eat around the parks on a weekly basis. Since the blog started we have cruised on Disney Cruise Line, gone to Tokyo Disneyland and to Disneyland in California!

  1. Chef Ken is the best! He served me at the Plaza and his sandwich was out of this world. He actually sits with you and makes sure you have an enjoyable, memorable expeierence.
